A 52-year-old man was arrested in a town near Kavala in northern Greece, suspected of sexually assaulting his mentally challenged daughter during an 18-year period. The arrest was carried out by members of the Hellenic Police (ELAS). According to reports from the national broadcaster ERT, the young woman fell pregnant by her own father and gave birth to two children. Following repeated reports, authorities launched an investigation at the suspect’s apartment, which resulted in his arrest. Nicholas “Nick” J. Colessides passed into the hands of his creator on Thursday, May 04, 2023, at the age of 85 years. Nick is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Sophia “Syd” (of Salt Lake City, UT), his brother Constantine “Gus” and Barbara (of Houston, TX) and his sister Maria (of Kavala, Greece) along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and godchildren in the United States and Greece. Passenger traffic at Fraport Greece’s 14 main airports outside of Athens fell somewhat in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. Two trains collided in northern Greece, killing at least 32 people and injuring dozens more, according to emergency services. Rescuers have been working all night to free passengers from one of the trains that crashed near the city of Larissa. The train, which was carrying 350 passengers, collided with a freight train. Thick plumes of smoke rose from derailed carriages, according to footage posted on local news websites. According to the fire department, 150 firefighters and 40 ambulances were on the scene.
