The wildfire that broke out earlier on Monday in Dialechto, Kavala, northern Greece, injured 2 (two) firefighters and damaged a fire engine. According to reports, one of the firefighters has burns on his face and the other on his hands. They have both been taken to the hospital. Dialechto locals had received a notice on 112 to escape their village and head south towards the old national route. The Fire Brigade reports that 12 (twelve) firefighters, 6 (six) fire engines, and 1 (one) firefighting aircraft are on the scene.

Earlier this evening, a 35-year-old Bulgarian was arrested by officials from the Kavala Central Port Authority and transferred to the Kavala District Court, where he was accused with insulting national symbols. He was, however, released a short time afterwards. According to a National Bank of Greece forecast, tourism revenue could reach a record €21 billion in 2023. The total will almost definitely exceed the €18.17 billion received in 2019, the final year before the Covid-19 epidemic. While tourism returned well in 2022 after two weak years, income fell short of a new high of €17.63 billion. The Greek National Health Care Organization (EODY) revealed on Tuesday that the West Nile virus had claimed two lives in Greece. Both were beyond the age of 81, and their deaths were due to central nervous system diseases. Eight additional West Nile virus infection cases have been recorded in the last week, increasing the total number of infections to eleven. Ten infected people had symptoms of central nervous system infection, such as encephalitis, meningitis, and/or severe paralysis. In the 6th round matches, Grandmaster Ziaur Rahman beat World Grandmaster Antolak of Poland while his son and FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia drew with FIDE Master Seemann Jakub of Poland.
