The coastal town of Kavala, located northeast of Thessaloniki in Greece’s gorgeous Macedonia, provides as a good base for exploring the historic city of Philippi and wine tastings in the surrounding mountains. The capital and principal port of the Kavala prefecture is situated amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mt. Symvolo, resulting in one of Greece’s most scenic cities. The vast modern Platies (squares), contemporary buildings, and commercial center on the west side of the city contrast the traditional old houses, little gardens, and flagged lanes on the east side, which transport you back in time. The port city of Kavala…
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told Kavala residents on Thursday that the election conundrum entails more than just moving forward or back; it is a choice between stability and chaos. He accused the main opposition party, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, of being “dizzy from its contradictory statements” and stated that the “Demeter” proposal “could be ridiculous if it weren’t so dangerous.” Furthermore, he stated that the only way to avoid such a scenario is for New Democracy to show its strength at the polls on May 21, 2023. The prime minister specifically addressed young people, encouraging them to vote for the New Democracy…

Relations between the United States and NATO and Russia are now on a knife’s edge. It is no coincidence that Maria Zakharova, a representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated: “Russia, unlike Ukraine, has never refused dialogue and the search for diplomatic ways of resolving the conflict. We use the negotiation process until the last opportunity. In this case, everything was sold out.” It was preceded by the announcement of US Vice President Joe Biden’s statement: “The commitment of the United States to the NATO Alliance and Article 5 is unwavering. And every NATO member knows it.” The…

Greece is known for its locally grown produce, but farmers are dissatisfied with an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program they’ve been fighting for a decade, as well as European Union targets to reduce pesticide use. According to EURACTIV, IPM is an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on the long-term prevention of pests or their damage through a combination of techniques applied in a hierarchy to minimize chemical protections. According to the site, the system is a key component of Greece’s 2020 National Action Plan for Pesticides, which emphasizes its importance in the country’s environmental and climate action. According to an unnamed…
Tenders for at least four geothermal exploration areas in various regions of northern Greece are expected. Tenders for the exploration and exploitation of four geothermal areas in different regions of Northern Greece are expected to be issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These are the areas in question: The Sperchios site, a fifth area, is still being considered for inclusion in the tender.
