Nicholas “Nick” J. Colessides passed into the hands of his creator on Thursday, May 04, 2023, at the age of 85 years.
Nick is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Sophia “Syd” (of Salt Lake City, UT), his brother Constantine “Gus” and Barbara (of Houston, TX) and his sister Maria (of Kavala, Greece) along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and godchildren in the United States and Greece.
Nick was born in Kavala, Greece and was proud of his Greek heritage. A Pontian philosopher, Nick was always ready to engage in dialogue about history, politics or religion.
Nick will always be remembered for his generous and caring spirit as well as his sharp and clever wit. His unwavering support to his family and this community exuded kindness and compassion towards others. His love for education, food, music and laughter was well known and appreciated by all. Although heavily decorated with legal and community accolades and awards, Nick wanted to be remembered for how he lived his life with gratitude and appreciation.
Following his wishes, Nick will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Nick will be dearly missed by all.
