A 65-year-old man, who was arrested on Thassos on Tuesday in connection with a wildfire, that erupted last week on the northern Aegean island, is scheduled to appear before a prosecutor in Kavala later in the day today.
Early Tuesday morning, police officers searched the suspect’s car and discovered firecrackers and flammable material.
Before referring the suspect to the examining magistrate, the prosecutor is expected to press charges based on the fire department and police case file.
