New charges at 18 toll stations of the Egnatia Odos motorway are effective from Monday, April 1, 2024. The 33% increase is included in the Egnatia Odos concession contract, signed on Friday, March 20, 2024, amidst reactions, and concerns the financing, operation, maintenance and exploitation of the highway and the three vertical axes (with upgrading of the latter), for a period of 35 years.
The price to be paid by the concessionaire is estimated to exceed €1.5 billion. The concession contract was signed between the Hellenic State and the Superfund – of which TAIPED is also a member, which executes the concession – and the company “Nea Egnatia Odoso” SA. as the concessionaire and the original shareholders, “GEK Terna” SA. and “Egis Projects” SA.
The new toll prices at the 18 stations
Based on Official Gazette 1957/Β`/28.03.2024 and as announced by the company, the new prices that will now apply at the 18 (out of 48 in total) frontal toll stations are set as follows:
- Τύριας: €2.70;
- Παμβωτίδας: €1.55;
- Μαλακασίου, Σιάτιστας, Πολυμύλου, Στρυμονικού και Προμαχώνα: €1.90;
- Μαλγάρων: €0.90;
- Θεσσαλονίκης: €0.55;
- Ανάληψης: €2.35;
- Ασπροβάλτας: €1.10;
- Μουσθένης: €2.15;
- Καβάλας: €1.85;
- Ιάσμου: €1.80;
- Μέστης: €2.20;
- Αρδανίου: €1.60;
- Ιεροπηγής: €1.85;
- Ευζώνων: €2.40.
With the signing of the contract for the concession of the highway and the three vertical axes, “the toll prices on Egnatia Odos will be increased by 33%, since the charge will be four cents per kilometer, from three per kilometer”, he pointed out to APE – The president of the Employees’ Association of the company “Egnatia Odos” SA (SETEO), Mr. Stavros Sakos.
