A 52-year-old man was arrested in a town near Kavala in northern Greece, suspected of sexually assaulting his mentally challenged daughter during an 18-year period. The arrest was carried out by members of the Hellenic Police (ELAS).
According to reports from the national broadcaster ERT, the young woman fell pregnant by her own father and gave birth to two children.
Following repeated reports, authorities launched an investigation at the suspect’s apartment, which resulted in his arrest.
The 52-year-old suspect admitted to security officials that he had been raping his 26-year-old daughter, taking advantage of her intellectual impairment.
According to police sources, he also sexually abused two more daughters, ages 20 and 23. A forensic examiner examined the family’s children to see if they had been victims of sexual assault by the accused.
