Austrian Airlines will launch a new route to Greece this summer, connecting the city of Kavala with Vienna.
Kavala, located in northern Greece, has been added to Austrian Airlines’ summer 2022 flight schedule as one of the carrier’s new vacation destinations, alongside Valencia, Spain.
The Austrian flag carrier’s new service to Kavala will begin on June 14, 2022 with weekly flights.
Austrian Airlines has 19 holiday destinations in Greece on its flight schedule for summer 2022, including Kavala.
According to a company announcement, the airline will fly up to 78 times per week to 19 Greek vacation destinations this summer. In addition to 17 weekly rotations to Athens and 11 weekly connections to Heraklion, destinations such as Rhodes (6), Mykonos (3), and Zakynthos (5) will be served. Rotations to Samos and Volos are also on the agenda.
Europe
The summer flight schedule of Austrian Airlines includes 110 destinations and 1,300 weekly flights.
The airline’s summer focus within Europe is clearly on tourism destinations, with 36 destinations in the Mediterranean.
Along with destinations in Greece, Austrian Airlines’ summer flight schedule includes flights to Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Ibiza, Malága, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, and Menorca for vacations in Spain. Valencia, on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, will be added to the Austrian route network on June 4.
The airline’s summer flight schedule includes 11 Italian destinations this year. Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, Lamezia/Therme, and city classics like Rome, Milan, and Bologna are among them.
In the summer of 2022, many other destinations will be offered with increased frequency. Sofia, for example, will be served up to 24 times per week, Tirana up to 17 times per week, and Nice up to 14 times per week. Iceland will begin service up to four times per week on June 4.
In terms of long-haul destinations, the summer flight schedule will include up to 33 weekly flights to the United States. Chicago, Washington, and two New York airports are on the itinerary. All four airports will resume daily service in the spring of 2022. In addition, beginning May 20, Austrian Airlines will offer five weekly flights to Los Angeles on the United States’ West Coast.
