Bulgarian firefighters are leaving for Greece to help put out the devastating fires in the vicinity of Alexandroupolis, the Bulgarian Ministry of the Interior announced.

The module for ground extinguishing of forest fires with cars leaves today around 16:00 with 5 (five) fire trucks, 2 (two) vans, 1 (one) operational vehicle and 36 (thirty six) firefighters from Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Gabrovo, Shumen and Sofia.

The leaders of the team are the director of the fire station in Blagoevgrad, commissioner Valentin Hristov, and chief inspector Radoslav Stefanov from Gabrovo.

The Bulgarians will be involved in extinguishing the fires in Alexandroupolis, which is among the areas most severely affected by the natural disaster.
